Hardik Patel joins Congress

Pratidin Bureau

Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, Gujarat Patidar movement leader Hardik Patel on Tuesday joined the Congress party in presence of its president Rahul Gandhi. Top leaders of the party are in PM Modi's home State for a meeting of its working committee.

The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti led by Hardik Patel was the forefront of the agitation for reservation in government jobs and college admissions.

Interestingly, BJP has been calling Patel an agent of the Congress since the beginning of the reservation agitation in 2015.

Notably, Hardik has indicated that he wants to contest the Lok Sabha election 2019. The Congress had given a tough fight to the ruling party in the last assembly polls in Gujarat.
