High Tension Wire Falls On UP School

Fifty-five school children on Monday suffered burns injuries, four of them seriously, when a high tension wire of 11000KV fell on
Vishnupur Government Primary School in Uttar Pradesh (UP).

There were around 100 children in the school when the high tension wire snapped and fell on the roof of the school building. Following this, the high current ran through the entire building causing the injuries.

The injured were rushed to a private hospital and some to the district hospital in Balrampur district.

It may be mentioned here that by immediately cutting-off the power, further casualties were averted.

As soon as the news of the accident spread, angry parents of the students rushed to the school accusing the administration of criminal neglect.
