High Tide Likely To Hit Mumbai

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday said that high tide of 4.74 meters is expected to hit Mumbai later today and that low tide of 1.32 meters will occur in the evening at around 8:37 pm.

Hightide means during the rainy season, flooded water in the city find it difficultto get into the seas while low tide will help the flood waters in the city tofind an outlet to enter into the seas.

TheBMC further informed that high tide of 4.06 meters will occur at around 2:45 amand low tide of 0.80 meters will occur at 8:36 am on Sunday.

Heavyrainfall in the city of Mumbai and in suburbs has been predicted by IndiaMeteorological Centre. The minimum and maximum temperatures will hover around25 degree Celsius and 30 degree Celsius throughout the day.

However,a part of a tree fell on Mulund station's cover over platform owing to thetorrential rain and got entangled with Pantograph of a slow local train.

Theservices returned to normalcy after the branches of the tree were removedlater.

Theheavy downpour also led to severe waterlogging in Mumbai and Thane with localswading through ankle-deep waters to commute.
