IAF pilot Abhinandan Varthaman returns to his squadron

Pratidin Bureau

Pakistan-captured Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman has reportedly returned to his squadron in Srinagar.

According to official sources, although Varthaman is on a four-week sick leave, the commander chose the squadron rather than spending time with his family back home in Chennai.

After Pakistan released the IAF pilot, security agencies carried out a almost two-week defriefing after which he went on leave.

Reportedly, a medical board will review Varthaman's fitness to give a green signal for him to return to fighter cockpit after his four-week sick leave period is over.
