India to include Artificial Intelligence in defence forces

India has decided to include Artificial Intelligence in its defence forces with an aim to enhance operational preparedness of the armed forces.

Defence Secretary (Production) Ajay Kumar informed that a task force has been set up under the chairmanship of Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran to finalise the framework of the project. "Artificial Intelligence is going to influence everything in the future, including the warfare" Kumar added.

"Most of the major countries in the world are taking steps to ensure that their defence systems are fully empowered by the use of Artificial Intelligence" the Secretary said. Hence, the Government of India is also taking all necessary steps to stay at par, he added.
