Indian Army Rubbishes Chinese Claims of Firing

Pratidin Bureau

The Indian Army rubbished China's claim of the former crossing over to the Chinese side of the LAC and firing warning shots.

In a statement, the Indian Army clearly said that "at no stage has it transgressed across the LAC or resorted to use of any aggressive means, including firing." ANI reported.

It also clarified that it was China that was trying to escalate tensions and carried out "aggressive manoeuvres".

The statement further said that despite "grave provocation" from the Chinese side, the Indian troops showed great restraint and maturity. However, the Indian Army is equally determined to safeguard the country's sovereignty and national security at any expense, it further said.

Giving an account of the unwarranted aggression shown by the Chinese PLA on Monday night, it said, "In the instant case on 07 September, it was China's PLA troops who were attempting to close-in with one of our forward positions along the LAC & when dissuaded by own troops, PLA troops fired a few rounds in the air in an attempt to intimidate own troops."
