India's first father-daughter duo Ajeet Bajaj and Deeya Bajaj have recently returned to Kathmandu after conquering Mount Everest.

The duo made atop of the world's highest peak from the Tibetan side on May 16 and came back to the Nepali capital on Saturday. They were welcomed by the Indian ambassador Manjeev Singh Puri at the Indian embassy in Nepal on Sunday.

Deeya, is grateful to have parents who let her follow her dreams.

"I am very lucky to have parents who always have supported me in everything I do. I think girls in India aren't often given the same opportunities as boys and especially in something like adventure tourism," 24-year-old Deeya said.

Deeya had also skied across the Greenland Ice along with her father and she is of the opinion that adventure sports should not only be considered a boy's or man's field and thanked her parents for standing with her.

"I am very excited and lucky to have been given those opportunities," said Deeya.

The father-daughter duo had previously made various records and is known for being adventure enthusiasts. The first Indian to have skied to the North Pole, the South Pole and across the Greenland Ice Cap, 53-year-old Ajeet is a Padma Shree Awardee himself.
