Jammu and Kashmir on High Alert

A high alert has been put off in Jammu and Kashmir after Pakistan reportedly shared with Intel inputs on the possible terror attack in Awantipora and Pulwama district.

Pakistan's Intel warnings which were shared before theSCO summit in Bishkek have also been shared with the United States.

The state police are keeping a tight vigil on thehighway in particular as the input warns against a possible terror attack bythe militants using an improvised explosives device (IED) mounted on a vehiclein Awantipora town of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir.

According to sources, the input on the possible terrorattack in Pulwama was generic in nature and no specifics have been shared byPakistan. Sources further informed that Pakistan said that they have informedabout the terror attack to avoid any sort of blame, retaliation by India orinternational pressure on acting against terror.

The terror attack by Pakistan has been plannd toavenge the killing of Zakir Musa who was killed in an encounter with securityforces in Tral in Pulwama on May 24. Musa was the close associate of BurhanWani who was the commander of Al Qaeda linked Ansar Ghazwat-ul Hind.

Talking about the possible terror attack in Pulwama,the official said that Pakistan has shared the input with the Indian HighCommission in Islamabad. The same input was shared with the United States.
