Jharkhand: 3 Maoists down in encounter

In an exchange of fire in Giridih district of Jharkhand, three Maoists have been killed along with a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan on Monday.

According to officials, the encounter took place around 6 am during the 7th battalion of the CRPF operations in the forests of Belbha Ghat area of the district.

The security forces recovered an AK-47 Rifle, three bullet magazines and four pipe bombs along with the bodies of Maoists from the site of encounter till this report had been filed.

Reportedly, a CRPF jawan had also been martyred during the exchange of shots.

With search operations still on, more details awaited.
