J&K: 2 CRPF Jawans, 1 Cop Killed In Militant Attack

Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan and one cop of the Jammu and Kashmir Police on Monday were killed in the line of duty in a militant attack in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

A joint team of the CRPF and J&K Police were on duty at a check post at Kreeri, said the officials, when some militants fired at them. The militants escaped after the attack.

Security forces have cordoned off the area and a hunt has been launched to nab the militants.

"We have lost three jawans in the attack. Reinforcement has been rushed to the spot. We are confirming the details," said Vijay Kumar, Inspector General of Police.
