Karnataka to witness a second floor test within a week

Newly appointed Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is slated to face a trust vote in the state Assembly on May 25.

JD(S) has formed a coalition government with the Congress in Karnataka electing Kumaraswamy as the Chief Minister. He claims of having support of 117 legislators including two other members. Reportedly, the House will commence with the election of Speaker.

Ramesh Kumar of the Congress and Suresh Kumar of the BJP have filed their nominations for the Speaker's post.

BJP's 55 hour Karnataka CM BS Yeddyurappa is set to be the leader of the Opposition in the Assembly.
