Kerala Landslide: Death toll at 49

The death tally of the tragic Kerala landslide at a tea estate has escalated to 49 in Rajamalai in the Idukki district of Kerala on Monday.

Six more bodies were recovered, according to the data of Idukki district collector H Dineshan.

Meanwhile, incessant rain is continuing to rattle the state's at least six districts.

Two NDRF teams, a full unit of Idukki fire and rescue team, a team each from Kottayam, Thiruvananthapuram, and a team that received special training are leading the rescue operations. Nearly 105 members of the Kerala Armed Police, 21 members of the local police, and 10 members of the Rapid Action Force are also part of the rescue operations.
