Mob Vandalises Temple in Delhi

A mob vandalized a temple in Chandni Chowk area of Delhi after clashes broke out between two groups belonging to different communities reportedly over a parking issue.

Those who protested against the vandalism were reportedly pelted with stones by another group- here both groups representing two different communities.

"We're trying to identify miscreants who tried to harm communal peace," police said.

According to reports being posted on social media by locals, the Durga Mata Mandir in Lal Kuan-Chawri Bazaar locality in Hauz Qazi area of Delhi became the target of vandalism allegedly by a Muslim mob of around 400 people on June 30th night.

The locals who saw their temple vandalized protested against this and called for strong action against those responsible.

The protests carried on till the Monday morning, on whom stones were pelted by another group of people.

At this moment the protesters also turned violent and there a scuffle broke between the two groups in which several people were injured.

The police controlled the situations and the incident is being investigated.
