Modi to launch BJP membership drive on July 6

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to launch BJP's membership drive on July 6 starting from Varanasi.

The launch date of the membership drive, that is, July 6 is not just any other random ordinary date, it is the birth anniversary of BJP ideologue Syama Prasad Mookerjee.

The PM has forwarded direction to plant at least five trees in every booth across the country during this membership drive.

According to party sources, Modi has also warned MPs that if anybody brings a bad name to the organisation, with their conduct, then it would be "unacceptable".

The PM's directions comes after the arrest of senior party leader Kailash Vijayvargiya's MLA son Akash Vijayvargiya for allegedly attacking a government official with a cricket bat.

Home Minister Amit Shah will set the drive 's momentum in Telangana and likewise, other leaders of the party in different parts of the country.
