PM Modi Urges Congress For RS Smooth Functioning

Pratidin Bureau

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday sent two Cabinet Ministers to speak to Congress for the smooth functioning of Rajya Sabha (RS) despite the fact that the party continued to disrupt the Upper House even on Wednesday.

It may be mentioned here that the Upper House did not function on Tuesday and Wednesday despite the meeting of Business Advisory Committee (BAC) held in the Chairman Room in presence of all parties' floor leaders.

The meeting decided that discussion on budget allocation would be held for three from Tuesday to Thursday.

However, the functioning of the Rajya Sabha was disrupted for two days to protests by Congress party over the current political crisis in Karnataka.

The two cabinet ministers who were sent by PM Modi to meet the Congress party are Prahlad Joshi and Thawarchand Gehlot.
