PM to chair NITI Aayog meet today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to chair a meeting of the NITI Aayog's Governing Council at Rashtrapati Bhawan this afternoon.

In the Fifth Council Meeting matters such as rain-water harvesting, drought situation and relief measures, aspirational districts programme, transforming agriculture, and security related issues with specific focus on Left Wing Extremism districts will be put forth.

The Council is also slated to review the action taken on the items discussed in the previous meeting and deliberate upon the future developmental priorities.

The Council consists of the Prime Minister, Chief Ministers of all the States, Lt. Governors of Union Territories, and other special invitees.

Union Ministers of Defence, Home, Finance and Agriculture will attend the meeting as ex-officio members.
