Rahul Gandhi’s resignation as Congress president rejected

In apost-result drama, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on Saturday rejectedthe resignation offered by its president Rahul Gandhi.

As perreports, the Congress President offered to resign as party president in the CWCmeeting which is underway in Delhi, but it has been rejected by thedecision-making body of the CWC.

Rahul reportedly offered to quit as the party president following Congress' poor performance in the 17th Lok Sabha Elections. Notably, Rahul himself has lost the Gandhi family's traditional Amethi seat to BJP's Smriti Irani.
