Rajasthan Pol. Crisis : Sachin Pilot Removed As Deputy CM

Pratidin Bureau

Sachin Pilot has been removed from the position of the Deputy CM of Rajasthan.

Govind Singh Dotasra has been appointed as State Unit Chief.

CM Ashok Gehlot's proposal to remove Pilot from his position was earlier approved by Rajasthan's Governor Kalraj Mishra.

The abrupt change has come in the midst of an intensified face-off between CM Gehlot and Deputy CM Pilot.

Earlier in the day, Pilot and 16 other MLAs had skipped the second Congress Legislature Party (CLP) meeting scheduled for Tuesday noon. They had also skipped the first CLP meeting.

Congress leader RS Surjewala, as reported by ANI, said, "I regret that Sachin Pilot and some of his associates have been swayed by BJP's plot and are now conspiring to topple the Congress govt elected by 8 crore Rajasthanis. It is unacceptable."

Meanwhile, reacting to the official announcement, Sachin Pilot tweeted, "Truth can be disturbed, cannot be defeated."
