Pratidin Bureau

In a blow to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections, the Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed a bail petition by party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. Lalu is currently serving jail term in connection with Rs. 1,000 crore fodder scam.

Earlier, the CBI opposed Lalu's bail plea on Tuesday, stating he is likely to indulge in political activities ahead of the polls. The CBI on Wednesday said that Lalu might get involved in political activities ahead of the LS polls, if granted bail.

Notably, Lalu Yadav has been in a hospital ward for more than eight months.
