Sikkim: Man Injured In Attack By Himalayan Black Bear

A man was injured by a Himalayan Black Bear on Sunday in East Sikkim, days after reported sightings at Sikkim Raj Bhawan in Gangtok.

The incident took place in Tareyathang Village in East Sikkim. The man has been admitted to the Central Referral Hospital.

A wildlife team from Pangolakha Wildife Sanctuary and Wildlife Territorial Division of Pakyong has reportedly inspected the area. A forest team has been deployed to look after the area at night, informed officials.

The people have also been instructed to not venture into forest areas at night by the officials.
