Sushma Swaraj to be Cremated with State Honours

FormerExternal Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj who died on Tuesday due to cardiacarrest will be cremated with state honours on Wednesday.

Herbody will be kept at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) headquarters for threehours this afternoon for the leaders and party workers to pay their lasttributes to the former minister.

Politicalleaders across party lines as well as people on social media expressed griefand shock at her sudden demise. Swaraj's body will be kept at the BJPheadquarter till 3 PM after which her body will be taken to the Lodhi Roadcrematorium to perform her last rites.

PrimeMinister Narendra Modi while remembering the veteran politician, said that aglorious chapter in Indian politics has come to an end.

Veteranpoliticians such as Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Ravi Shankar Prasad,Smriti Irani, Harsh Vardhan, Prakash Javadekar, Ramesh Pokriyal were amongthose who visited the hospital last night after her demise.

Herbody was taken to her home where former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and BSPchief Mayawati paid their last respects early on Wednesday.

Hoursbefore her death, Swaraj had tweeted to PM Modi to congratulate over thepassage of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation bill in the Parliament.
