TPCC demands Telangana CM to reduce fuel prices

Telangana Congress has demanded Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhara Rao to reduce fuel taxes to reduce burden on common man.

On Thursday, Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Sravan Dasoju said that the Telangana Government has increased the burden to tune of Rs. 3,025 crore on common man by increasing taxes on petrol and diesel.

He has alleged the state government of collecting 35.2 per cent taxes on petrol and 27 per cent on diesel.

Dasoju remarked that Telangana is collecting highest taxes on petrol and diesel when compared to 22 other states in the country and its fuel tax collection shot up to 7,552 crore rupees in 2016 from 4,527 crore rupees in 2014.
