Union Budget will be presented on July 5

The Union Budget 2019 will be presented by newly-appointed Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on July 5, informed Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Friday. Javadekar further said that the first session of 17th Lok Sabha will be held from June 17 to July 26.

President Ram Nath Kovind will address the joint sitting of the two houses of Parliament on the first day of the session and the new Lok Sabha speaker will be elected on June 19. Javadekar also said that after the election of the new speaker, both houses will take up the motion of thanks on which PM Modi will give his reply.

It may be mentioned here that the Interim Budget was presented by acting Finance Minister Piyush Goyal on February 1.
