University Exams Cancelled: Delhi Govt

The Delhi Government on Monday informed the Supreme Court that the universities of Delhi Government have cancelled its examinations. The government has filed a reply in the Supreme Court in response to a petition challenging UGC guidelines mandating to conduct the final year exams by universities by September 30.

The Delhi government has directed all Delhi state universities to cancel all written online and offline semester examinations including final year exams.

The Delhi Government did not change its decision of not conducting the exams after July 11, 2020. The views of vice-chancellors along with the MHRD/UGC guidelines were placed before Deputy Chief Minister/Higher and Technical Education Minister of the National Capital Territory of Delhi Manish Sisodia and he has reiterated his decision dated 11.07.2020 that all Delhi State Universities to cancel all written online and offline semester examinations including final year examinations.

Universities were also advised to devise alternative assessment measures to promote intermediary semester students and grant degrees to students of final semesters.
