Uttar Pradesh: 13 Killed, 30 Injured in Cylinder Blast

At least 13 people were killed and over 30 injured in Uttar Pradesh's Mau district on Monday after a building collapsed following a cylinder blast.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 7.30 am today when the woman at the house in Mohammadabad area of the district was preparing breakfast. Locals said that they had heard a loud explosion after which flames erupted from a building.

The injured have been rushed to the district hospital.Several people are still believed to be trapped in the debris. Police teamsreached the spot immediately and are carrying rescue operations with the helpof the locals.

According to a senior police official, the prima facieit appeared that there was a leakage that caused the cylinder blast.

UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken cognizance of the incident and expressed his deepest condolences to the family of the deceased. The CM also directed all the officers to immediately provide all possible relief and medical help to the injured.
