Uttarakhand | 47 killed as bus falls down a gorge

At least 47 people were killed in a road accident in Uttarakhand, where a bus fell down a gorge at Nanidhanda in Pauri Garhwal district.

11 people have also been injured in the accident, the Police informed. "The 28-seater bus was overloaded and was carrying about 58 persons" Police officials said.

Rescue operation have been completed by the Police and NDRF team in the area.

The bus was headed to Ramnagar from Bhoan.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat has offered his condolences to the families of the deceased and announced a compensation of two lakh rupees each for the families of the dead and Rs 50,000 each for the injured.
