All-round Rashid Khan stuns KKR to help SRH set up IPL final clash with CSK

Pratidin Bureau

Afghanistan's 19-year old Rashid Khan today shone with both the bat and ball as he took SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) to the finals of IPL 2018 defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 14 runs in the second eliminator at the Eden Gardens.

Send in to bat first, SRH made a good start but were left rippled by the KKR bowlers in the middle overs. Then came the man of the day, Rashid Khan, to bat with 13 balls to spare. Khan hammered 4 sixes to score 34 runs in 10 balls to take the score to a respectable 174 for 7.

Chasing the target, KKR went off to a flyer with Sunil Narine and Chris Lynn taking bowlers to all over the field. But midway down the chase, Khan had other plans as he wrecked havoc with the ball this time to pick up 3 wickets for 19 runs from his 4 overs. KKR felt short of the target by 14 runs after SRH bowlers put up a disciplined show.

Rashid Khan, for his all-round performance, was adjudged the man of the match. SRH will play Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the final on Sunday.
