Final Test match between NZ, B’desh cancelled

Today's mass shooting at a mosque in New Zealand's Christchurch has triggered panic in and around the country. Pertaining to the incident the final Test match between New Zealand and Bangladesh, which was supposed to be held nearby the mosque attacked, has been cancelled.

It may be noted that the team Bangladesh had a narrow escape today as they were on the way to offer prayers at the mosque during the attack. Fotunately, they managed to escape to nearby Hagley Oval.

Taking to Twitter, Bangladesh Cricket said, "All members of the Bangladesh Cricket Team in Christchurch , New Zealand are safely back in the hotel following the incident of shooting in the city. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is in constant contact with the players and team management".

The New Zealand cricket expressing grief in its Official Twitter handle named 'BlackCaps' tweeted, "Our heartfelt condolences go out to the families and friends of those affected by the shocking situation in Christchurch . A joint decision between NZC and the @BCBtigers has been made to cancel the Hagley Oval Test. Again both teams and support staff groups are safe".

It may be noted that, New Zealand has won the the three-match Test series, 2-0, with the final Test match,  between the two countries, cancelled.
