Pugilist Shiva Thapa lost the pre quarter final to  Chinese boxer Jun Shan in Asian games. Thapa was in action in the 60kg boxing category of Asiad boxing round of 16 on Sunday evening.

The Assamese boxer first came to the limelight with an appearance in the 2012 London Olympics at the age of 18.

Assam eagerly waited to watch Shiva's good performance at Jakarta Asiad 2018. Not only Assam, supporters from the entire nation had their fingers crossed hoping Shiva would clinch Asiad medals. But unfortunately Shiva could not live upto the expectations.
