ISRO looking for industry participation in launch of rockets

Pratidin Bureau

India's space agency ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) said that it was looking for participation of a consortium of industries in its plan to launch 12 to 18 rockets each year.

Director of ISRO, while speaking at the seventh edition of SUBCON at Kanyakumari, informed that ISRO wanted the industries to come forward and develop the finished product from raw material to processing, integration, testing and launching of rocket from Sriharikota.

"Space technology has to be taken to the unreachable in terms of remote-sensing, education, tele-medicine, defence and communication" he added.

The director also said that the number of TV channels on air was inadequate to meet the requirements of a family in modern times.
