Slain ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's "number onereplacement" has been shot dead. US President Donald Trump on Tuesday said thatthe person, who was likely to replace Islamic State's slain chief Abu Bakr al-Baghdadihas also been killed. The US President, however, did not identify the person.

"Just confirmed that Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi's number onereplacement has been terminated by American troops. Most likely would havetaken the top spot – Now he is also Dead!" tweeted Trump.

After al-Baghdadi's death, Abdullah Qardash, alsoknown as Hajji Abdullah al-Afari, was reportedly appointed the new leader ofthe terrorist organisation. It has not been made clear if Trump was referringto Abdullah Qardash in his tweet.

It may be mentioned here that earlier, President Trumpshared the picture of the dog, which was part of the US operation that resultedin the death of al-Baghdadi.
