Pakistan train fire: Death toll rises to 65

The death toll in the horrific Pakistan train fire has increased to 65 with dozens of people sustaining serious injuries.

Accordingto officials, the massive fire caused by a cooking gas stove erupted onThursday on the Karachi-Rawalpindi Tezgam express train the Liaqatpur area nearRahim Yar Khan city in Pakistan.

Thefire broke out when a gas stove exploded as breakfast was being prepared onboard. Safety regulations are often ignored in the trains in Pakistan andpassengers bring their own gas stoves to cook their meals on the trains. Thetrain was on its way from Karachi to Rawalpindi when the blaze erupted.

Meanwhile,local authorities and Pakistan's military troops are engaged in the rescue operationof the passengers. Authorities are still trying to identify the victims of theincident.
