Shooting At US Mall, 2 Dead And 4 Injured

Pratidin Bureau

Two people were killed and four others were injured in a shooting incident in a mall in United States on Monday. Reportedly, a gunman opened fire in a mall in the US state of Idaho where a police officer was also among the injured.

Police Chief Ryan Lee told reporters that police were called with reports of at least one person being shot and down. They were engaged in a shooting exchange with a man who matched the description provided by 911 callers, in which an officer was injured.

"We really cannot at this time speak to any motivation behind it, or anything else that may impact the investigation" Chief Ryan said, adding that there was "no ongoing threat or danger to the community at large from this incident."

The New York Times reported that the Boise Town Square mall, where the shooting happened, was made up of more than 150 stores and restaurants.

Notably, gun related violence and mass shootings are a big problem in the US where gun laws are relatively lax.
