9 killed in US plane crash

Nine people, including two children, were killed and threeothers injured in a plane crash in the US state of South Dakota.

The Pilatus PC-12, a single-engine turboprop plane, crashedshortly after take-off approximately a mile from the Chamberlain airport andwas carrying as many as 12 people, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

Peter Knudson, an official with the National TransportationSafety Board (NTSB), was quoted as saying that a Pilatus PC-12 plane with 12people on board crashed at about 12:30 p.m. (local time) on Saturday, shortlyafter taking off from Chamberlain, a city in the southern part of the state.

The plane was bound for Idaho Falls in the state of Idaho,said Knudson.
