GretaThunberg, the Swedish climate activist, has been named Time magazine's Personof the Year for 2019.

Thunbergis known for her blunt, straightforward addresses to world leaders. She hasurged immediate action to address what she describes as the global climatecrisis.

It maybe mentioned here that earlier this year, she had been nominated for a Nobel peaceprize, recognised for her mobilisation of students in her 'Fridays for Future'weekly school strikes.
