India to participate in Bangladesh’s golden jubilee

Indiaexpressed keen desire to participate in the golden jubilee celebration ofBangladesh's independence and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh MujiburRahman.

PrimeMinister Narendra Modi who has sworn-in on May 30 for the second term conveyedhis gesture at a meeting with Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid in New Delhi. Hamidwas among one of the invitees of the swearing-in ceremony Modi who had attendedthe same on May 30.

Hamid called Modi on Friday to discuss bilateral issues involving the two neighbouring countries. Press Secretary to the Bangladesh President, M Joynal Abedin said that Modi has viewed that if the two countries take a joint effort to celebrate the golden jubilee of Bangladesh's independence and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman it will receive global attention.

However,Modi is keen to desire the golden jubilee of Bangladesh independence as heexpressed his belief that the initiative will play an important role in thedevelopment of bilateral and multilateral relations.

Bangladeshwill also celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of the Father of theNation in 2020 and a year later in 2021, the country will celebrate the goldenjubilee of its independence.
