North Korea blows up joint inter-liaison office with South Korea

South Korea's Ministry of Unification has confirmed North Korea attacked the inter-Korean liaison office, which was a meeting place between the two nations.  

North Koreahas been recently warning the South of possible military action just hours beforethe attack was carried out.

Theinter-Korean liaison office was established in 2018 in order to reduce tensionsbetween the two Koreas.

Thedestruction of the office "broke the expectations of all people who hopefor the development of inter-Korean relations and lasting peace on thepeninsula", deputy national security adviser Kim You-geun told a briefing,a report by Al Jazeera mentions. "We're making clear that the North isentirely responsible for all the consequences this might cause," he added.
