An Indonesian villager has been swallowed by a python making it the second such incident in a year.

According to reports, Wa Tiba (54), who was a housewife, disappeared on Thursday night after she went to inspect her corn plantation. The field is surrounded by cliffs, caves and a number of pythons.

When Tiba did not return by the next morning, her sister went out to look for her. She found Wa Tiba's footprints, her machete, torch and slippers.

A few hours later, the villagers found a seven metres long python, near the plantation, that was too bloated to move.

The locals immediately killed the snake and dissected its stomach. Wa Tiba's body was found inside intact.
