Scindia Charts Growth Path for Manipur in High-Level Review Meet

Union Minister for Communications and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, chaired a high-level review meeting in Imphal to assess ongoing developmental initiatives in Manipur. The meeting was attended by Hon’ble Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, senior officials from the Ministry of DoNER, and top functionaries of the Manipur State Government.

This was the second such review chaired by Scindia, focusing on a wide spectrum of development sectors across the state. Key areas under review included the proposed Polo Tourism Circuit, comprehensive development of Loktak Lake, promotion of palm oil cultivation, and enhanced support for Manipur’s traditional weaving communities.

Scindia also evaluated investment proposals emerging from the recent Rising Northeast Investors Summit, urging for the timely implementation and on-ground execution of viable projects. He reiterated the Centre’s commitment to catalysing economic growth in the region through actionable investment opportunities.

The saturation-based development model under the Vibrant Villages Programme, aimed at ensuring last-mile infrastructure and service delivery in remote and border areas, was another major topic of discussion. Officials reviewed progress and explored new strategies to expedite work in these sensitive zones.

Emphasising the importance of Centre-State synergy, Scindia noted that “with sustained collaboration, Manipur is poised for transformative growth, driven by purpose, powered by partnerships, and aligned with the principles of inclusive progress.”

The review meeting marks a significant step in ensuring that Central development schemes and state initiatives work hand-in-hand to uplift Manipur’s economy and infrastructure.
