BREAKING: South Point School Student Found Dead, Suicide Suspected

In a sensational incident, a student of South Point School in Guwahati was found dead in a suspected case of suicide on Monday.

As per initial reports, the incident took place in the fourth floor of the hostel inside South Point School campus in Guwahati’s Barsapara locality. The body of the deceased student was found early today morning.

The deceased was a Class 12 student of the school and was a resident of Arunachal Pradesh's Aalo in the West Siang district. So far, the reason behind the tragic turn of events is unclear.

As of now, all classes scheduled for the day have been suspended in light of the incident by South Point School authorities.

Police was informed and arrived at the scene to recover the body. An investigation into the incident has been initiated and further details will emerge soon.

The identity of the deceased is being withheld at the moment.

Regarding the matter, the Principal of South Point School, Guwahati has filed an FIR with the Fatashil Ambari Police Station.

Speaking to reporters, the Principal, Krishnanjan Chanda said, "Today morning at around 6 am when the hostel warden went around waking the students up to get ready for classes when he was informed about the student. The warden rushed to the scene where he found the student hanging and immediately went ahead to bring him down."

"He was a good student and also a sportsperson. He liked to play football. Last time I visited him, I saw he was studying. We cannot think of any reason for this step," added the Principal.

He further said, "The body is kept at the morgue and we are awaiting the post-mortem. We cannot proceed without the permission of the parents. They have been informed and are on their way."

He said, "The body was immediately brought down and the warden found it to be warm, thinking there was a possibility of survival. The police was immediately informed and we rushed him to Hayat Hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead."

Meanwhile, hinting at the possiblity of a love angle behind the suicide, the Principal said that there were text messages exchanged between the deceased and a girl, possibly from Arunachal, about whom the parents knew. According to him, the text messages were sent from a standby phone and were accessed by the authorities which revealed that they were conversing till late hours.
