Pratidin Time

The prime accused in the Hit-and-Run case, Arin Kataki (20) son of Pranjal Kataki, an Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) in the Forest Resources and Survey Division, Santipur, Guwahati, is expected to be arrested again.

This comes after the city police registered another case 87/24 under sections 120(B), 188, 290, 287, 283, 336 and 419 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the siren gang at Basistha Police Station.

Police sources said that the owners of the nine luxury automobiles seized yesterday would be summoned to the police station for questioning.

It should be noted that the owners violated the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988 by illegally installing sirens and red/blue beacon lights on vehicles, and they also obtained suspected illegal car passes to enter the Assam Legislative Assembly during the ongoing session at Dispur in Guwahati.
