In yet another setback to Congress, former minister Khorsing Engti resigned from the party on Wednesday.

Engti tendered his resignation to APCC President Bhupen Borah. He decided to resign from the party after it loses in the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council elections.

Engti served as the Vice-President of the party and also served as the coordinator of the hill district.
