Assam: Prisoner Undergoing Treatment at Diphu Medical College Escapes

A prisoner who was undergoing treatment at the Diphu Medical College and Hospital in Assam’s Karbi Anglong district allegedly fled from the hospital premises, reports said on Monday.

According to reports, the prisoner was arrested for on charges of rhino poaching. He was serving imprisonment at the Diphu Jail in connection to this.

The prisoner was admitted at the Diphu Medical College for treatment on November 30.

The prisoner has been identified as Akash Saha, sources said.
