Assam witnesses decline in active COVID-19 cases

With 1165 active cases and 1294 recoveries in the past 24 hours, Assam's active cases of coronavirus infection have recorded a sharp decline to 7951 cases.

On Friday, the active cases were 8081. Currently, Assam's COVID-19 tally climbed to 31086.

Meanwhile, there is a progressive growing upward trend in the recoveries which has climbed past 23,000 in the state. A total of 23,055 cases have recovered as of last night. Consecutively, for three days over 1000 cured patients are being discharged.

Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said, "Our testing figures touched 739,465 today," adding, "Out of 16178 samples in the last 24 hrs, we recorded low positivity rate of 6.98%".
