Assam Writer Bags Gujarat Sahitya Academy Award

In a proud moment for Assam, a reputed author and poet, Mousumi Kalita, was honoured with the Gujarat Sahitya Academy Award for her constant excellence in Literary Skills on the 75th Independence Day of India.

This award is in collaboration with Motivational Strips – world's largest international writing forum.

Mousumi was presented the award by the Chairman of Gujarat Sahitya Academy Vishnu Pandya and the Founder of Motivational Strips Shiju H Pallithazheth.

A social activist by passion, Mousumi is currently serving as the director of GRIFFIN publication. She was also honoured by many social organizations for her selfless services towards COVID patients and families during the pandemic.

'I write to spread love and peace and bring in a positive change in the nation and the society…," she said on winning the award.

Notably, this is the second consecutive year Mousumi has bagged the Sahitya Academy Award. She was honoured with the award last year on the 74th Independence Day as well.
