Clash Erupts Between AASU-ABVP Outside DU

Tensed situations arise in Dibrugarh University on Monday night ahead of the election as All Assam Students' Union (AASU) members allegedly assaulted two members of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP).

The incident allegedly took place at around 5.55 pm when both ofthem were coming out of the university campus.

Sources said that the AASU activists assaulted former state secretary of ABVP Nayan Jyoti Sarma and Rohit Nayan Baruah. Baruah had come to the University for the purpose of his cousin's admission at the Women Studies department in the university when the AASU members assaulted him.

However, Nayan Jyoti Sarma went to the university to meet theVice-Chancellor.

According to a member of ABVP, the AASU members assaulted them whenboth were returning from the university. An FIR has been lodged at Dibrugarhpolice station by ABVP.

On the other hand, the AASU members alleged that ABVP membersassaulted the AASU members outside the university.

Moreover, the AASU has also filed an FIR at Rajabheta policeoutpost.
