COVID-19: Assam Reports 139 New Cases, 6 Deaths

Assam on Sunday registered 139 fresh cases of COVID-19, taking the active caseload to 2,510. The positivity rate of the state has reached 0.71 per cent.

The new cases have been detected out of 19,713 Covid-19 tests conducted in the last 24 hours. Six Covid-19 fatalities were reported today, while, 244 cured cases were discharged.

The districts with the highest cases were Kamrup Metro (43), Jorhat (15), Kamrup Rural (13), and Lakhimpur (10).

The total recoveries of the state have touched 5,98,759 with a recovery rate of 98.38 per cent.

Meanwhile, Covid-related fatalities in the state have reached 5,973 with a death rate of 0.98 per cent.

The overall case tally of the state as of today remains 6,08,589.
