Dimakuchi incident: Villagers lift ban from family

In a recent development in the Dimakuchi social ostracized incident, the villagers have lifted the ban issued on the family. According to reports, a meeting was organised at Borongajuli village in Dimakuchi area under Udalguri district on Friday evening, where the villagers took the decision to lift the ban from the family.

The meetingwas organised by Gorkha Students' Union, where an Executive Magistrate was alsopresent.

It may be mentioned here that the family was ostracized from society for 12 years alleging that they have murdered their father. They have been excommunicated from the society and the villagers said that if anyone will try to communicate with them then they will have to pay a fine of Rs. 50,000. The villagers have even banned the child from the society saying that if anyone would take the child in their lap then they will have to pay for it.

Meanwhile, the family has decided to perform the shraddha ceremony of their father.
