Rahul Gandhi Slams Modi Govt, Says it Needs Tuition on Democracy

Pratidin Bureau
Slamming the BJP government against the suspension of 12 Rajya Sabha MPs, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that the government needed a lesson on democracy.

Rahul Gandhi in a tweet said, "The Modi government needs tuition on the importance of debate and dissent in a democracy."

Notably, twelve Opposition Rajya Sabha MPs were suspended on November 29, the first day of the Winter Session of Parliament, from the Rajya Sabha for the rest of the Winter Session on account of 'unruly behaviour' during the Monsoon Session.

On Tuesday, MPs from Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha will March from Gandhi statue in Parliament to Vijay Chowk at 12:30 pm. Rahul Gandhi will lead the protest march.

The march will be followed by a press conference. The Winter Session of Parliament, especially the Rajya Sabha, has been severely hampered with the productivity clocking at 51%, amid protests by the Opposition over the suspensions.
